Job Fit Analysis

Generally, there are three phases to any hiring process:

  • The candidate’s history and resume
  • The interview where you use subjectivity, your experience, and ‘gut feel’
  • The psychometric evaluation

We all know a resume gives the career-seekers work history, the interview indicates whether there is a ‘chemistry’, and the psychometric evaluation provides insight into a candidate’s likelihood to succeed, competencies, and probability of suitability within the organization. Unfortunately, many organizations stop after the interview as they have no ability to assess the critical third phase.

Prevue Assessment™ provides a Job Fit Tool to assess the critical third phase of understanding your candidate’s abilities, interests/motivations, and personality in five simple steps:

  • Step 1: Build a Benchmark (Success Profile) for the targeted position using the knowledge and understanding from those who are very familiar with the position. This is a simple 10-minute exercise online (this is included as part of our Executive Search process).
  • Step 2: Finalize the Benchmark after a discussion with the key participants during step 1.
  • Step 3: Measure the short-listed candidates against the Benchmark; identify the individual with the highest potential of success by reviewing their general abilities and overall competencies.
  • Step 4: Utilize the provided behavioural interview questions to determine if the areas they do not match the Benchmark will be a detriment to their ability to do the job.
  • Step 5: Hire the best candidate for the position and increase your potential to double your industry’s employee retention rate and employee engagement.

Employee Engagement / Career Planning

When an employee is in a position that suits them, there is increased retention and engagement within the organization. While the Job Fit Analysis listed above references new hires, the same basis can be used for existing staff when considering Career Planning.

  • Step 1: Build a Benchmark (Success Profile) for the senior positions within your organization using the knowledge and understanding from those who are very familiar with the position. This is a simple 10-minute exercise online.
  • Step 2: Finalize the Benchmark after a discussion with the key participants during step 1.
  • Step 3: Measure all internal employees against the Benchmark(s) using the corporate planning reports to identify the best positions for your employees to consider advancing toward.
  • Step 4: Utilize the Personal Development and Corporate Coach Reports to develop the employee towards his or her future with you

Just a note, overall job performance does not just depend on who you hire, it also depends on how you treat people after they are hired and how employees choose to react to the challenges and opportunities they encounter once on a job. Succession Planning
